Backache, or dorsopatia, is a pain that can be caused by muscles, nerves, bones, joints or other structures in the spine.

The spinal column is a system of nerves, joints, muscles, tendons and ligaments are interconnected with each other, and all the potential to create the sensation of pain. The major nerves that originate in the spinal column and radiating to the arms and legs can cause the pain is radial to the edges.

The pain may arise suddenly or chronic, constant or intermittent, localized to an area or spread to other areas of the body. It can be mild or sharp, or accompanied by a sensation of stinging or burning. The pain may be felt at the neck (and can radiate to the arm or hands) at the shoulder blades or the lumbar (and may radiate to the legs and feet) and can include symptoms such as weakness, sleep of the interested party, tingling.

Back pain is one of the most frequent disorders in human beings. About 9 adults over 10 experience of back pain and 5 to 10 suffer annually.

The majority of incidents are separate and not progressive. Most of the syndromes of back pain are caused by inflammation, especially in the acute phase and may last from 2 weeks to 3 months.
